Aside from a handful of features, Danny Brown has been relatively quiet since the release of his 2013 album OLD. He just recently stated he’s working on finishing up his album alongside TDE’s in house producer / engineer MixedbyAli and says they’re “putting the final touches on [his] next masterpiece.” Ali is responsible for working on TDE’s releases including Kendrick’s incredible Good Kid M.A.A.D. City album, so we have high hopes for this.
Now we get the first song from Brown since as he’s delivered “When It Rain” as a new song via music video. We get the signature frantic sound from Danny as his spastic verses fit along with the trippy, wild visuals directed by Mimi Cave, splicing together home video shots with Danny delivering his fierce rhymes. The wonky beat was produced by Paul White and shows off the first listen from Brown’s follow-up to his critically acclaimed OLD. While there is little info on the forthcoming album we can’t wait to hear what else is up his sleeve. Enjoy!
