Daphni (aka Caribou) Announces New Album ‘Cherry’

Dan Snaith wants to do it all. The Canadian electronic music maestro has continuously blown us away with his live project, Caribou. He also, however, crafts finely-tuned club bangers under the alias Daphni. Today he’s announced that he’s focusing his production efforts on a brand new Daphni album, his first in five years, titled Cherry.

Snaith already delivered the title track to us last month, which was a woozy techno jam that incorporated his elegant knack for writing melodies. Now, alongside this album announcement, he’s unveiled another single, titled “Cloudy.” Caribou fans will recognize the melody, sounding very similar to “Sunny’s Time,” off of his 2020 album Suddenly. In this version, he masterfully converts the track into a dancefloor ripper.

Snaith also revealed the release date for Cherry, which is set for this fall on October 7.
