A night out to the club with good music and good people is the best. These frivolous and free nights escaping through music can lead to some of the most fun experiences. Although oftentimes these nights can be a bit superficial, the most beautiful nights out are the ones that breed deep connections and introspective reflection amidst the chaos. Today, Darby presents his newest project in his Party EP where he explores this dichotomy meshing club ready tracks with genuine emotion.
Via NIGHTSOUND, the Party EP is transcendent. It is the perfect representation of what it’s like to lose yourself in a crowded room. Australian native Darby is one of the most cutting edge producers in the game and this release is further proof. Incorporating UKG, Breaks and Bass House with perfectly arranged vocals the Party EP combines both the inflated high energy from the club to the stillness of the aftermath.
“TRUST” with Britt Lari and “AUTOPILOT” with ÊMIA are the two tracks that most exist in this space in between. Like the moment at a show where you close your eyes, reach out your arms and allow yourself to be in the moment. But make no mistake, the EP’s title track “PARTY” brings on bass house wizard OOTORO for an indulgent club banger. And “FLOW” sees Darby flex his innovative production and unmatched energy for a classic Darby bass house masterpiece.
On the EP, Darby had this to share,
“The EP is a psychoanalysis of the club context, a lot of club music is fairly surface level but I wanted to go deeper and study the characters, the emotions and the energy that’s generated in that space. Imagine a night out that starts off as spontaneous distraction from the real world but ends in a blur that leaves you contemplating your life decisions.”
