Deadcrow Hacks Into a Sonic ‘Mainframe’ with Heavy New EP

|||

Inspired by the cyberpunk lifestyle and raised on popular culture like Need For Speed and Blade Runner, wave artist Deadcrow brings a certain retro flair to his music. Hot off of three other releases this year, he comes through the newest addition to his discography, the Mainframe EP.

Continuing the theme of his racing-inspired aesthetic, Mainframe grabs fans right away with its bold cover art, depicting an R32 Skyline in the middle of a dark landscape. Setting the mood for the high-energy tracks to come, Mainframe kicks off with the title track, leaning into buzzy synths and a lively beat. The old-school synth-wave vibes carry all the way to the end with the boldly named “Xenon Blaster,” a track certain to hype up the crowd.

While the producer’s inspiration is evident, he still maintains a sound all his own as a leading pioneer of one of electronic music’s most exciting new genres, Wave. He has even managed to catch the eye of electronic icons such as Steve Aoki, Zeds Dead, and RL Grime, proving he has surely created something special with his growing catalog.
