deadmau5 Turns 2007 Smash-Hit, “Jaded,” Into Four Track EP

||, |,

When a track becomes a global hit, it takes on a certain aura. It becomes equal parts myth and music—lightning captured in a bottle. One such song is deadmau5’s 2007 hit, “Jaded.” What made it even more mythic was the fact that it had never seen a digital or streaming release… until today.

The classic tune is finally brought fully into the public eye as part of a four-track EP curated by deadmau5 himself. It is joined by a twelve-minute extended mix, an ambient reimagining, and a thunderous rolling remix by one of dance music’s most exciting new up-and-comers, Volaris. When asked about this remix opportunity, Volaris shared:

“‘Jaded’ was one of the first tunes that got me fully into progressive house. It is such an infectious tune, when I got asked to remix it, I was nervous as what can you do to an already huge and iconic record.  I’ve made so many versions of this remix as I really wanted to do it justice. Ultimately this isn’t here to compete with the original as nothing ever will but I hope you like my take on this iconic tune.”

Finally having “Jaded” so readily available is enough for any dance music aficionado to rejoice. But getting three other well-executed remixes alongside it just might bring us to tears. Join us while we rinse the Jaded EP into oblivion by pressing play below. Enjoy!
