Longtime Westwood Recordings collaborator, Defunk, has been quite active to start out the year, having already played at Gem & Jam and announcing his return to Shambhala. We had the pleasure of premiering his soul-filled track “Blast Off” last month and we’re already excited to share new music from the Calgary-native. Today, he’s demonstrating his unwavering versatility with a drum n bass track titled “Waves.”
It’s become pretty evident that drum n bass has experienced a newfound resurgence stateside and Defunk has joined the party. Teaming up with the prolific electronic vocalist and songwriter, Taylr Renee, Defunk offers up his energetic take on the genre. Gritty saws, fast breaks, and epic melodies all come together for a worthy addition to his already immensely diverse catalog.
