NPR couldn’t have picked a better rapper to perform a Tiny Desk Concert. It’s none other than Denzel Curry who’s the latest to take the tiny stage, which is now back in the NPR office—over the past couple of years, NPR Music has had artists doing their own Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts.
Denzel Curry is coming off a widely acclaimed new album, Melt My Eyez, See Your Future, which sees the rapper taking his energy level down a couple of notches. While Curry is perhaps most well known for his mosh-pit-starting bangers, his lyricism shines brighter than ever on this project and also opens up an opportunity like this one to play with a live band. He enlisted a vast, 10-piece band for this performance, and the new renditions of his music are stunning.
Curry performs six tracks for this performance, which clocks in at around 20 minutes.
