Shaquille O’Neal is a national treasure. The Hall of Fame NBA legend turned DJ has been taking dubstep head on with his DIESEL moniker. Already well familiar with the live music and festival circuit, DIESEL has established himself as a real player and force in today’s scene. Today, he’s finally ready to unleash his very first album GORILLA WARFARE, out now via Monstercat.
Much like his personality, DIESEL has been drawn to the heavy and energetic sounds of dubstep that dominate modern festival mainstages. GORILLA WARFARE showcases his love for raw, unadulterated dubstep while also capturing his early love and respect for hip-hop.
DIESEL’s magnetic personality has allowed him to work alongside some of dubstep’s top producers and he’s been able to recruit a diverse array of collaborators on the project. Among them are Hairitage, Jessica Audifred, Crankdat, Kompany, and more.
Here’s what DIESEL had to say about his debut album,
“Dubstep has always been an escape for me. I’ve grown to learn how important this community is, and I hope my album (GORILLA WARFARE) is proof of that. Working with Crankdat, Jessica Audiffred, Hairitage and Celo was an incredible experience. Together we created some of the hardest hitting bangers and after over 2 years in the making, we are all so proud of this body of work. We cannot wait for the world to listen to GORILLA WARFARE.”
DIESEL is also bringing his all-female edition of Bass All-Stars event to Denver’s Mission Ballroom on September 8. Follow the link here for tickets. You can stream GORILLA WARFARE below. Enjoy!
