It’s no secret that both Diplo & Dillon Francis have long histories of experimentation, innovation and generally just doing things differently. And today we’ve seen their eccentricity shine yet again, as while the majority of superstar DJs and producers are undoubtedly getting their weapons set for festival season, the two LA-based artists have just announced a new, collaborative country-bluegrass album on the way. We’ve been wanting these two to do a collab album for years and are curiously awaiting what this will sound like.
With each having collaborated with a range of eclectic artists in numerous different genres throughout the years, although this latest news is definitely surprising, is much less of a shock than we might’ve imagined. As we’ve seen both Dillon & Diplo flourishing in a wide variety of creative endeavors (DF with his Latin-inspired album & Diplo with pop and hip-hop via his LSD supergroup and Europa EP) while DIplo did team up with Andy Milonakis, Dirt Nasty, Riff Raff on a hilarious track “We Are Farmers” this latest country undertaking will surely be new territory for both.
Although we’re going to have to wait a bit for further details, we’ve reached out to both teams for comment and will keep you posted while we await more info. The tweet has since been deleted but see the announcement below and enjoy!
