Diplo has really been getting in touch with his inner house-head recently. He recently made a serious statement with his four-track house EP called Higher Ground earlier this year. Now, Diplo is taking that concept to the next level by launching his own house label with the same name.
The new Higher Ground label is coming out of the gates with a wild new EP from one of America’s most unique duos, Walker & Royce. The inaugural release is a two-tracker called Rave Grave, and features W&R’s signature, chaotic synths and colossal bass.
We’re very interested to see in which direction Diplo decides to steer this new label in. Rave Grave is as heavy as tech house gets, so it looks like he could be competing with labels like DIRTYBIRD. We’ll have to wait and see what they drop next to really get a good idea, though.
The first Higher Ground party is taking place in NYC this month at the Brooklyn Mirage. Diplo, Walker & Royce, Golf Clap, and the legendary Paul Woodford are some of the names who will be throwing down.
