Dirt Monkey has always been one step ahead of the curve, transcending all musical boundaries with his signature wonky sound design. The Colorado producer is ready to turn a new chapter in his accomplished career with a two-part album series titled MYCELIUM SOUND. Today, he’s ready to unveil Part 1 of that series which comes out via 19k.
MYCELIUM SOUND Pt. 1 is a 12-track body of work that spans multiple genres and ideas. Dirt Monkey’s affinity for hard-hitting wubs, bass, and 8-bit sounds is still ever present throughout the project. Tracks like “BACK 2 SCHOOL,” “RESET,” and “BUTTER KNIFE” contain that old-school Dirt Monkey spirit we’ve all come to know and love.
Other tracks defy expectations like the moombahton-inspired “ACE BUMPA,” the energetic drum & bass filled “COAST 2 COAST,” and the jersey-club rhythms of “SPORECORE.” Dirt Monkey’s deep dubstep counterpart MYCELIUM SOUND Pt. 2 is set to release on October 25.
