Dombresky’s “Utopia” Receives Dark House Remix From Madeaux via Tchami’s Confession Label

Tchami's Confession label has been on point with releases this year. A couple months ago, Parisian native DOMBRESKY shared "Utopia", an underground gem on the imprint that plays with vocal chops atop a gritty house foundation. Los Angeles' Madeaux has decided to give the record a spin and stretches the song's mood to both a cheerful and dark setting.

"Quentin [DOMBRESKY] and I met on tour together with Anna Lunoe…Over the course of the tour I'd come early to the club to see his sets and each felt more impressive than the last. I thought hard about what I could bring to the record…Brought some funky chords in, resampled the OG bassline in a way I thought resembled Claude VonStroke's "Bitch Better Have My Money", then sent it over." — Madeaux

The remix kicks off with a fun, echoing chord progression that gradually switches to an ominous, mechanical-sounding sequence. Madeaux seamlessly then mixes the two vibes together, creating an unlikely but satisfying pairing. If you're digging this, you can hear the LA-based producer flex his creativity further on "All I See" with DZZ. Enjoy!
