Duke Dumont Delivers Cohesive Sophomore Album ‘Union’

|||, ,

Duke Dumont firmly has his place in the history books of Electronic Music. Renowned globally with over four billion streams the British DJ’s place is set in stone. 10 years since the release of “Ocean Drive” and five years after his debut album Duality, Duke Dumont delivers his sophomore album, Union. Arriving via Astralwerks, this album explores themes of unity on the dancefloor and the connection we have through live music.

Union is one of the more cohesive albums released this year. Which makes sense with the album designed to represent the immersive and unifying elements of live music, especially raves and festivals. Blending deep house, progressive textures, and classic dance influences create a cinematic and emotive feel to the project. There’s a certain freedom you sense when listening.

My Heart (Is Full Of Love)” is the focus track on the album that perfectly represents the album. Building up emotion with its vocal sample and layered melodies before dropping into an ocean of uplifting and euphoric energy. “Feels Like This” is a heady yet moving number centered around spoken-word by poet Tony Walsh that has all the feels about the togetherness that livem usic creates. Previously released tracks like “Ain’t Giving Up” with Clementine Douglas and “All My Life” with Panama bookend the album as two massive tracks that firmly reflect Duke Dumont’s ability to create music that you feel deeply.

Duke Dumont will be bringing his show stateside for a six-date tour this November and December with stops in Toronto, New York, Vancouver, Chicago, Denver and Detroit.
