EARTHGANG have just delivered their highly-anticipated sophomore studio album, GHETTO GODS. The album, released on J.Cole’s Dreamville, follows the mainstays’ celebrated debut, Mirrorland.
The talent that’s coming out of Dreamville right now features some of the best lyricist in the scene, with JID, Bas, J.Cole, and of course, EARTHGANG. With GHETTO GODS, the Atlanta-based duo, comprised of Olu and Wowgr8, can now point to another exceptional body of work on their resumé.
Here’s what the duo had to says about the project upon its release:
We started this album in the middle of the world shifting and realities changing. We regrouped and turned our focus inward to our city, our community and ourselves. We … talked for hours on the direction we wanted to go, what we wanted to say, what we wanted to keep and what we wanted to transform. The beats got crazier, the hooks became more direct and every word uttered on this album has meaning. We wanted more black women, more black people, more global presence, more vibes for our CORE Fanbase. We wanted you to learn, feel, and jam the f*ck out at the same time. That’s what life’s been like lately.
