You know a song is good when you can play it on repeat for an hour and still not get sick of it. The latest song to fall into this elite category: “Rise” by edapollo. Serving as the first track on his recently released album Blue Spring, “Rise” is pure downtempo bliss.
From the very first notes of the song, edapollo lures us into a dreamlike trance that doesn’t let up. Gentle synth melodies gradually build, spilling over into a majestic, slow-burning verse. In a press release, edapollo mentioned his inspiration for the album was the realization of “how fragile life is.” With its sonic twinkles and background glimmers, “Rise” feels like an exploration of this. Somehow, on the rising and falling waves of the melody, edapollo evokes feelings of both melancholy and hope.
The rest of the album is just as good as its intro. You’re definitely going to want to check out “Rise,” so hit that streaming button below. Enjoy!
