Ekali & 1788-L Push The Boundaries Of Sound Design On “R U I N”

||, |,

Are you ready to be ruined? Ekali and 1788-L’s monstrous collaboration is finally here and it’s an absolute force to be reckoned with. Both of these very talented producers have been sharing videos of them dropping “R U I N,” while on tour, and it set a chugging hype-train in motion. Today, the track is now available to the public, and we can confirm that it was worth the wait.

Both Ekali and 1788-L are known for their creativity, and “Ruin” pushes the boundaries of bass music sound design in sinister ways. The first part of the track is all about the bass. It glitches in and out of the main, pounding bass line with warping and firing fills that give the track an unreal atmosphere. “R U I N” then comes to halt during a mystical breakdown, which eventually leads up to an explosion of rapidfire, arpeggiated melodies.

1788-L is one of the quickest rising artists out there, and for good reason. They’re playing a headline show in NYC on Feb. 22 at Kings Hall. Grab your tickets here as you will not want to miss this one.
