Hot off of her Prism of Pleasure album release this June, Cardiff-born producer and DJ, Elkka, is already back with more new music! Today, she joins forces with London-based producer, Tom VR, for a very special collaboration. This is “Body Ache.”
“Body Ache” is poised for the club. The duo builds the track around a glitched-out chorus vocal, deep house bass line, and booming kick. A powerful lead vocal from Elkka grounds the rest of the track with an emotive performance and memorable hooks. We enjoyed a dose of retro dance nostalgia from the chorus-y synths, and a refreshing piano-house breakdown.
Tom VR commented on the process of writing “Body Ache,” sharing:
We’ve been working on and off on different projects over the last year, and then ‘Body Ache’ just ended up flying out of the DAW, which I think is how creativity works for me. You chip away and work consistently over a long time, and then you’ll just get this flare of creativity and synergy when things align on any particular day, and everything just clicks. I like the song because it sounds like a perfect blend of the both of us, and because of the lyrics we decided on calling it ‘Body Ache’, which also underpins this idea of merging complimentary styles, as Elkka has a previous track titled ‘Body’’ and I have one titled ‘Acheless.’
