Floating Points continues to blow us away with his recent releases. After stepping away from glitchy electronic music to craft the beautiful album that was Promises last year, he’s come back in full force. Today he’s released “Problems.” It’s his third single of the year that evokes steaming dance floor energy, following “Grammar” and “Vocoder.”
While the previous two singles were held together by a consistent four-on-the-floor rhythm, “Problems” harnesses a shifty UK garage groove. The bass line on this one is massive, really hitting hard at the drop. The kinetic percussion and glitchy style are evident in Floating Points’ signature sound, but this is the first track he’s dropped in a while that really grips you with a bass line. And we’re loving it.
