Flume is undoubtedly a trendsetter in electronic music as his debut, self-titled album in 2012 set the bar high as he gained a loyal following of both fans and producers alike with many having tried to replicate his sound. His follow-up album Skin is finally due in just a couple days, and Flume has shown he’s a man of the people giving fans the first full listen ahead of it’s release via Facebook Live streaming.
We’ve already heard a handful of tracks including “Never Be Like You,” “Smoke & Retribution,” “Say It,” and “Lose It” in addition to just hearing his “Tiny Cities” collaboration with Beck a couple hours ago. Once again, he’s shown off uncanny production talents as he’s delivered a more forward-thinking, experimental approach to his sound design on Skin from what we’ve heard previously. Flume’s long-awaited followup album is proving to be even better than we hoped, and has is sounding like one of the best albums of an already amazing 2016.
