A series of recent Flume Q&As have led to the release of multiple unreleased tracks that fans thought they would never see. The latest is a remix of RL Grime‘s “Core,” which Flume played in almost all of his live sets while touring around his 2016 album, Skin.
A fan asked Flume about the remix during his AMA on Reddit. When asked if he could share the track, Flume responded with “sure.” He also confirmed that it was a What So Not edit. For those that don’t remember, What So Not was originally a duo comprised of Emoh Instead and Flume. Following their Gemini EP in 2015, they split, with Emoh taking over solo control of the project.
Flume has agreed to release the edit of “Core,” but it hasn’t arrived just yet. He said he had to “dig it up.” We’ll be watching his channels closely to see when we can hear the official version.
Last week, Flume released the version of “Greenpeas” after a Q&A on his Discord server. The tune had been highly-coveted since it was originally shared as a 90-second promo clip for Greenpeace.
