PREMIERE | Francesca Lombardo Shares New Euphoric Minimal House Track “Freak On Sea”

||, |, ,

Every now and again, we’ll be sent a song that stops us dead in our tracks with just one listen. Enter “Freak on Sea,” the latest fire track to be released by Francesca Lombardo, an Italian minimal house & techno producer.

“Freak on Sea” is part of the latest compilation called SPIRITS IV, released on Damian Lazarus’ prolific Crosstown Rebels label. Each track is vetted by the house and techno legend himself, meant to showcase the best club cuts from both emerging DJs and established talent. Lombardo falls into the latter bucket, having made a name for herself through hypnotic DJ sets and live shows at Burning Man, and residencies in London and Ibiza.

With the track being titled “Freak on Sea,” it’s not hard to imagine dancing to this on a boat at sunset, the golden rays reflecting off the waves. This song is an evenly paced 8-minute progressive journey, starting with a pounding 4-on-the-floor beat. It builds slowly and incorporates some melodic keys that create a euphoric, hopeful vibe. As we head to our first drop, Lombardo introduces layers of cascading synth that completely transport us to another world where we can rave again, and we stay in this joyous dream for the remainder of the track.

The rest of the absolutely stacked Crosstown Rebels’ SPIRITS IV compilation will be released worldwide tomorrow, February 26. In the meantime, you can enjoy this exclusive premiere of “Freak on Sea” below. Enjoy!
