Frank Ocean broke his four-year silence with a "visual album" titled Endless. The project spans 45 minutes and was his first release since Channel Orange in 2012. Following the release, Apple stated there would be more music coming from Ocean this weekend, giving further evidence to the artist's claim, "I got two versions. I got twoooo versions," when first announcing the album in spring 2015.
He keeps the content flowing with "Nikes" which highlights a new sound that is paired with a music video. The first three minutes showcase pitched-down, spoken verses that are layered with chipmunk-styled vocals. Following this extended sequence, his voice emerges in raw, unaffected form through both rapping and singing.
The video itself is rather strange, capturing erotic imagery, a rapping chihuahua and even a brief A$AP Rocky cameo. Ocean also pays tribute to the deceased A$AP Yams, as well as Pimp C and Trayvon Martin in the artistic video. Watch the official video for "Nikes" below. Enjoy!
