Fred again.. had perhaps the biggest year of anyone in electronic music this year. A massively sold out tour, a viral Boiler Room set, and now, an amazing new album. Today sees the release of Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022), Fred again..’s third studio album.
As with the prior iterations of this concept, Fred again.. aims to turn every day, in between moments into beauty on this album. He does this by taking intimate voice notes from friends, videos from Instagram, and other important records to him and sampling them. The production style is still very much dance music-focused, calling on energetic UKG rhythms, house music, and sometimes downtempo breakbeats to serve as the foundation for many of the tracks.
We can’t wait to see where Fred again.. goes from here. Will he continue the Actual Life trend and give us versions four, five, and six? Or maybe he’ll start an entirely new concept. We’ll just have to wait and find out.
