It’s no secret that Glass Animals has figured out the formula for indie-pop perfection. With hits like “Heat Wave” and “Gooey,” the quartet has established their classic sound, garnering over 25 million monthly listeners and dedicated fans from all over the world. Almost four years since the release of their acclaimed album, Dreamland, Glass Animals releases their highly anticipated fourth studio album, I Love You So F***ing Much.
An ode to their fans, themselves, and their loved ones, I Love You So F***ing Much is undoubtedly one of Glass Animals’ most vulnerable pieces of work to date. Track two, “whatthehellishappening,” stood out to us as the “earworm-iest” tune of the bunch, sticking in our heads for hours after listening. A large portion of the album features stripped-down production, half-time grooves, and a focus on Dave Bayley’s vocals in their purest state.
Glass Animals shared the meaning behind the album title, commenting:
I LOVE YOU SO F***ING MUCH. Our fourth child. Is born today. The YOU in this title applies to a lot of things. Life. The stories and people in the songs…good and bad, happy and sad. The album as a whole. But mainly it applies to YOU. You, reading this. Right now. This album wouldn’t exist without you. Hearing your stories about your relationships with the music we’ve made, and feeling your support and kindness over the years allowed this album to happen. It gave me a comfort blanket that let me write in a more honest and personal way. And it gave us a foundation from which we could take risks and do something new musically. We are incredibly lucky. Thank you for everything. We love you so f***ing much, forever.
