GRRL & Made of Oak Create A Sonic Wonderland On ‘Inertia’ EP

||, |

The formation of a new supergroup is always an enjoyable sight to see, and an even better one to hear. James Mapley-Brittle, better known as GRRL, and Made of Oak (Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso), join the supergroup ranks with their unique, industrial-style collaboration, fit to drive the club wild. Their debut EP, Inertia, is only the beginning.

Comprised of four equally enthralling bangers, Inertia grabbed us from the second we hit play. The title track kicks the EP off with beautifully syncopated, compressed bass stabs and an unparalleled groove. A sonic treat for the ears, the duo scatter the entire EP with nuggets of glitchy production. In this producers’ paradise, a wholly stereo listening experience is embraced and nailed to a tee. We could not be more pleased with the first offering from this producer pairing, and hope to hear a lot more from them in the future.

You can stream the full Inertia EP at the link below, out everywhere via Sylvan Esso’s own label, Psychic Hotline. Enjoy!
