Releasing non-stop since he got his start in 2011, we have had the pleasure of enjoying Habstrakt’s music for almost 12 years now. For long time fans of the blossoming artist, it thrills us to learn out that his debut album will finally land in 2023. While you patiently wait, Habstrakt graciously serves up his first single for you to check out, entitled “Vision.”
Press play to be greeted by a choir of voices and sub-heavy bass chords, quickly catapulting into an infectious four-on-the-floor dance drop. Just when you think you know what is around the corner, Habstrakt throws in unpredictable melodies and stunning production choices to create a sonically captivating soundscape. The producer exemplifies his instrumental background (playing keys and guitar growing up) with dynamic chord changes and intriguing melodic juxtaposition.
Habstrakt commented on the development of “Vision,” sharing:
I wrote the first idea of this record when I first moved to Los Angeles in 2017 and it’s been haunting me since. I had a vision for it but could never get it right, until I recently decided to fully rework it after being inspired in Amsterdam for ADE and developing the album. This song is sort of a time capsule to me, with so many versions of it tied to memories of the life I started after moving from France to LA.
