Rising New Zealand Producer Ian Munro Delivers Dark, Gritty New ‘Liminal’ EP

Up-and-coming artist Ian Munro has really been coming into his own as of late. Having garnered support from Skrillex, Hardwell, Jayceeoh, QUIX & plenty of other bass-music heavyweights over the years, today the New Zealand producer has delivered his new Liminal EP via Quality Goods Records.

Upon first listen to this new project, it’s clear that Munro has been hard at work developing his heavy, experimental sound. As the kiwi bass-bringer has had a long history of mixing bright, ethereal soundscapes with a juxtaposition of dark, crunchy synths and gritty, distorted 808’s, this latest offering only serves to further exemplify Munro’s unique, continuously evolving production style.

“This whole process has been about getting back in touch with my intentions as an artist. It can all be so fleeting — so ephemeral. I wanted to give you something to hold on to. Something to fall apart to. To fall in love to. Something to feel.” – Ian Munro

Featuring an eclectic assortment of inspiration from all over the bass-music spectrum and peppered with features from Still Haze, Somber & Quality Goods label-boss UZ himself, there’s a little something for everyone on this impressive five-track sonic journey.
