Here in Denver, we are spoiled when it comes to bass music. We’re home to many of the top producers within the genre, and one of those artists is none other than Mersiv. A producer who specializes in all things “pretty, dark, loud,” he’s consistently blown us away with his absolutely massive sounding releases. His most recent, a collaborative effort with Smoakland titled What You Want, is another euphoric, bone-rattling EP.
With concerts now fully back in action, we wanted to check in with Mersiv about plans for the future, his new EP, and what he’s looking forward to most about performing again.
You can listen to Mersiv and Smoakland’s What You Want EP below, along with our full interview. Enjoy!

Congrats on your newest release with Smoakland. This EP really follows your “Pretty Dark Loud” genre of music. What is it about that style that you really connect with?
That the sound is freeform and it allows you to explore the different ranges of emotions and adventures capable through sound.
What’s the best setting to listen to What You Want?
At one of my upcoming shows in Denver or in front of a big fat soundsystem.
With shows coming back, what’s the thing you’re looking forward to most about performing?
Reconnecting with people through music and hearing it all on large sound systems.
If you could play a set anywhere in the world, with 0 restrictions, where would it be and why?
Red Rocks. It’s always been a dream to headline that venue in Colorado.
