Jordan Orcaz took the world of electro-house by storm with his highly successful project, No Mana. A long-time veteran of deadmau5‘s label, mau5trap, Jordan grew his career both as a producer as well as prolific visual designer. Today, he takes a small detour to re-explore his roots in bass music as isqa, landing on Rezz‘s newly formed imprint, HypnoVizion, for the release of his massively impressive i 4ove you EP.
“flusterfuck” finds its voice first, assisted by a drum and bass intro and heavy bass stabs. Saturated, eroded synths characterize the track, though somehow avoiding overpowering the production. Come the second drop of “flusterfuck,” we were all in. “souls” brings the heat next with unshackled energy and futuristic sound design. “mycelium faceplant ft. fknsyd” sets the tone with a granular synth intro, airy vocals and an absolutely massive drop. “i should’ve been dead” closes things out- a glitchy powerhouse, and the only single from the EP (released about a month ago on soundcloud).
Rezz and I became friends in 2014 when she shot me a message on SoundCloud – which is a trip to go back and read considering how far she’s gone (she was 10 months into producing when we started talking). At the time I was transitioning into mainly making music as No Mana, but I owe it to her for supporting my weird side in her sets and inspiring me to restart the project again
