Scottish Producer J Wax Throws It Back to ‘1997’ with New EP

Edinburgh-based producer, J Wax, has such a stylish way of creating throwback tracks that feel as fresh as they do nostalgic. Today, the rising artist serves up his newest EP,  throwing it all the way back to 1997.

Spacious “Take Me Away” kicks off the EP with deep house flair. Playful breakbeats and a soulful vocal set the tone for the rest of the EP. Following “Take Me Away” is the producer’s recent single “All The Things You Say.” Still as stunning as the first time we heard it, the eclectic track finds its rightful home within the cohesive project that is 1997. Newcomer, “Someday,” comes in hot with a high energy beat and infectious, verbed-out synth leads. Closing it all out is “Floating.” Digging into a half-beat swing and complimented by a grinding sub, J Wax rounds out his production repetoire, proving 1997 to be an impressive showcase of his skillset.

J Wax had this to say about 1997:

I’m really excited to share my new EP with the world. I wanted to explore more euphoric and atmospheric sounds that still pack a punch in the club. Each track has its own unique sound and vibe, but they all flow seamlessly together to create a cohesive listening experience. I can’t wait for fans to hear it!
