French trio Jabberwocky have unleashed an indie dance bop in the form of their latest track “Inner Space”. The track came out last week on London label Future Disco, and feels both retro and fresh at the same time. It has a certain funky flair that they explain is influenced in part by house music, Italo disco drums, and sci-fi.
The group has started to migrate their music from an indie dance sound to a more 80s-influenced style, and it’s got us grooving. The bass line on “Inner Space” is prominent from the get-go, calling listeners to move. As they delicately introduce layers of synthesized sound, it reaches its full potential as a fun and vibey electro song.
You can listen to the track below. Enjoy!
