We forgot how much we needed new Joey Bada$$ in our lives. The New York rapper just dropped three new songs via The Light Pack release (which he refuses to call an EP), and it’s a confirmation that he’s still one of the very best in the game right now.
“Funny how I drop all these bombs so calm,” Joey spits on “The Light,” our favorite off the three, which features some of the best verses we’ve heard from the Pro Era leader. “No Explanation” is a more off-kilter, jazzy cut that features Pusha T, and “Shine” is as smooth as can be, rounding out an eclectic selection of tracks from Joey.
These three new tracks are a triumphant return for Joey Bada$$, who also casually announced an album during a series of tweets:
Wow, this is really my best album.

No further details have been revealed on when his next album is going to drop, but The Light Pack has officially launched Joey season.
