If you follow John Summit, you know he’s one for getting down during the early hours of the morning. His latest track, “In Chicago,” perfectly encapsulates the vibe of staying out late and partying until the sun comes up. This new dropped on Friday, and it’s also the first piece of music to come off his own label, Off The Grid.
There’s no messing around with this tune. The reverb-soaked vocals make that clear (or blurry) right from the start: “I’m drunk and I’m high. And I’m in Chicago.” A heavy techy groove will carry you through the night here, with little droplets of acid sprinkled into the production as well.
Here’s what John Summit had to say about the goals for Off The Grid:
So stoked to start my own record label Off The Grid. This has been in the works for years and I’m super excited to kick it off with a track about my home city. My ultimate goal is to use OTG as a platform for not only established artists but also up-and-coming artists who I believe will become the future stars.
