The day has finally come. After debuting the track this year at Miami Music Week, John Summit, Subtronics, and Tape B have just delivered their version of Sage the Gemini’s 2014 hit, “Gas Pedal.” Infusing elements of each of their own sounds for this track, this epic collaboration is sure to make your Fall playlists.
If you were a teenager in 2014, you know this sample after hearing Sage the Gemini utter just one word. In some cases, when a track has a strong sample, the sample can carry the track. That is not the case here. The track begins at a steely tech house bpm of 129 and transitions to 140 bpm at the drop that is flat out nasty. All three of John Summit, Subtronics, and Tape B’s influence can be heard and match the sample’s iconic energy accordingly. Be careful of your speakers when listening to this one.
