Skrillex's OWSLA label has been on a roll so far this year, releasing quality music from Hundred Waters, SNAILS, Bassnectar, and more – on top of their house music compilation HOWSLA. The latest release from them is a new song from the eclectic artist josh pan, his second OWSLA track of the year.
The new song, "Give It To Ya" features the vocals of rising Atlanta R&B singer and producer ABRA and combines their two styles to create something fresh and unique. Much like his 15-minute remix of Keith Ape's "It G Ma," the song incorporates hip-hop elements into his usual style of trap and heavy bass. He tones down the aggressiveness of some of his heavier tracks, instead focusing on a dense and complex beat where the vocals can really shine.
ABRA's vocals seamlessly switch between dark, gritty raps to singing high notes that really show off her impressive range. josh pan then brings everything together with an infectious chorus, creating a call-and-response with her voice and his synths. The song is paired with a trippy, hypnotic video by Quentin Deronzier that matches the mood of the song perfectly. Enjoy!
