Josh Pan has been busy this week. Not only did he drop off a crazy, out of the box track with frequent collaborators X&G, but he also came through with a stellar, one-hour mix for one of our favorite radio shows, Diplo & Friends. Throughout the show he drops massive unreleased collaborations, and it does not disappoint. Anderson .Paak pops in just after the 7 minute mark.
The new song, “wait for me” isn’t trap, it isn’t left field bass music, it’s a straight up rock track.
In the description of the new tune, Josh Pan mentions that it was made in "a living room with X&G". It's unclear who's responsible for each part of the song, considering we haven't seen this side from these producers before. We do however, recognize Josh's vocals, which shine throughout the song. Near the end of the track, it breaks down into a brief, bassy outro that sounds like the Josh Pan and X&G that we’re familiar with. The meat of “wait for me,” though, is huge step outside their comfort zone, and we’re loving the approach.
Make sure you don't sleep on Josh Pan's insane mix for Diplo & Friends either. It's an hour's worth of purely his own music. Among many of our favorite released tracks by, the mix includes a ton of unreleased collabs with artists like Anderson Paak, X&G, Dylan Brady and more. Don't just take our word for it, give the full mix a listen below. Enjoy!
