Returning to NIGHTMODE after his smash single “Pour All Night” released in 2020, Vancouver producer Juelz is back with his newest track, “Eden.” Boasting a lineup of past collabs with artists like Tails, Quix, and Crane, the producer chooses to fly solo on his new single, flexing his personal production and writing prowess.
“Eden” is a bass heavy, vocal led smash. Juelz explores alternative influence, utilizing saturated drum kits and trashy hats to add an edge and flare to his predominantly electronic production. Dancing through a mirage of saw waves and analog oscillations, the lead vocal shines its own powerful light amidst Juelz’s dynamic mix. Deep, heavy lyrical themes are evoked and accompanied by intense drops that deliver the song’s message beautifully.
Here’s what Juelz had to say about the making of “Eden”:
Eden is about struggling to find a sense of belonging in a world that is seemingly filled with self-serving people and systems. The garden of Eden serves as a metaphor for this world in the song. Although dark, I feel like the instrumentation of the song possesses a sense of optimism as, although sometimes difficult to find, there will ultimately always be a place where we fit in in this world.
