Juelz has flown onto our radar recently and it looks like he has zero intention of leaving. Today, the Vancouver based producer has unveiled a new EP titled High Octane on RL Grime’s famous Sable Valley label, and lemme tell ya, calling this project high octane is the understatement of the year.
We’ve already been treated to a couple of fiery singles in “Defqon Bounce” and “Formula,” but the rest of this tape is nothing but bangers. The bone shattering low end synths run rampant on “Drive-by City,” while “High Octane” and “Rendering” send searing high pitched saws to do the dirty work. To cap it all off, Juelz tacks an oddly satisfying cover of the classical staple, “Ave Maria,” to the end of the EP, like a pristine bow on top of hot jagged mound of steel.
This project entwines explosive trap energy with the Xtra thiccy low end of bass music. One can’t help but feel fully charged after blasting this through their speakers. Stream Juelz’s new High Octane EP below. Enjoy!
