Justin Martin is a music making machine. Whether he’s releasing creative, genre-pushing singles or breathtaking remixes, the San Francisco native is constantly on the pulse of where house music is evolving. His debut album, Ghettos & Gardens, is reaching its 10-year anniversary this year and he’s celebrating that milestone with an anniversary package set to release later this summer. Today, we’re given a first glimpse into the project with two fresh new remixes of “Don’t Go,” out now via What To Do.
Martin enlists London-based producer, Model Man, for the first remix. His take offers glitchy, skittering breakbeats, sweeping synths and resonant keys beneath the track’s infectious vocals to transport the production overseas. The second remix is a VIP mix from Justin Martin himself. This version sees the veteran producer experimenting with a softer percussive palette and features some stunning harp melodies.
