Every so often, KAYTRANADA will spontaneously upload some unreleased music to SoundCloud. He did just that this afternoon, and these loosies include some rare b-sides, demos, and remixes. Among them is actually a track with iconic bassist Thundercat in which KAYTRANADA bears his own singing voice for the first time.
The tune is called “LALALA” and was supposed to be on his GRAMMY-winning album, BUBBA. In the track’s description on SoundCloud, Kay mentions that he “wasn’t ready” to use his voice yet. This is a super funky disco-inspired track that we’re stoked to hear for the first time.
KAYTRANADA also uploaded his sought-after remix of H.E.R.‘s “Damage” and an original track titled “P.O.M.M.” with Tinashe.
As lifelong fans of Kay’s music, we’re feasting today.
