Kendrick Lamar Joins Past Collaborator Rapsody On New Song “Power”

||, |,

NC rapper Rapsody just released her second studio album, and the standout track features the legendary Kendrick Lamar and his TDE labelmate Lance Skiiiwalker. "Power" is the third time that Rapsody and K. Dot have collaborated; their most recent track together "Complexion (A Zulu Love)" off of To Pimp a Butterfly was a beautiful song about inclusion, featuring an impeccable verse from Rapsody.

9th Wonder provides a sample-heavy beat for the two MC's to spit verses over, while Lance Skiiwalker lays down an infectious chorus. Once Rapsody heard the beat, she knew she had to get Kendrick Lamar on the song and even though he was very busy working on Damn., he gave her one of the best feature verses we've heard from him recently. Rapsody's bars show that she shouldn't be overlooked in today's hip-hop world, and Kendrick Lamar once again proves he's one of the best technical rappers of all time.

Rapsody's album Laila's Wisdom also features Anderson Paak, Busta Rhymes, Terrance Martin, BJ the Chicago Kid, and more – we highly recommend checking out the whole project. Enjoy!
