Khruangbin have another exciting new collaborative project on the way! This morning, the Houston-based trio announced Ali, a joint album with Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré. They shared the first single from the album, a sweet, guitar-laden number titled “Savanne.”
Ali will follow Texas Moon, the second iteration of their collaborative efforts with fellow Texan Leon Bridges. The album is a tribute to Vieux’s late father, Ali Farka Touré. The album will see the artists rework Ali’s music into their own in an homage to his great catalog of work.
Ali will be released via Dead Ocean on September 23, later this year.
