Kid Cudi’s 2008 Mixtape ‘A Kid Named Cudi’ Finally Arrives on Streaming Platforms

|||,

Fans begged for it, and Kid Cudi listened. After clearing almost all the samples for his entire breakout 2008 mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, the project is now finally available on major streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music.

This re-release is over a year in the making. He first officially announced that he was working on getting the mixtape onto DSPs back in March of 2021. We’re elated to share the news that fan-favorite tracks like “The Prayer,” “Cleveland Is The Reason,” “Maui Wowie,” and more are now readily available to stream.

The one track that didn’t make it onto streaming services is “50 Ways To Make A Record,” which heavily sampled Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” “Maui Wowie” also features additional vocals from John Legend on this reissue. This version also has new cover art, revealed by Kid Cudi on July 10. It also has a fresh intro.

A Kid Named Cudi was originally released by New York City streetwear brand 10.Deep in collaboration with A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records.

You can give the mixtape a listen below. Enjoy!
