We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – watching our favorite artists create music together is one of our favorite things in the world. It’s been just about a year since the immensely impressive electronic supergroup, KUU, (Riton, Alex Metric, and Shunguzdo) last released a track. Today, they return with a brand new tune perfect for the club, entitled “Lose Control.”
Pulsing synths and a dance-forward beat lay the foundation for “Lose Control.” The trio take a pop-esque approach to the track’s structure, with catchy melodies from Shungudzo effortlessly flowing from verse to chorus. Below a buzzing bass line and high-energy groove, “Lose Control” stylishly utilizes a sample from Sandy Rivera’s classic track, “Come Into My Room.”
Metric offered a short description of KUU’s sound, calling it “the through-line between acid house, pop, RnB, indie, and dance music” – quite the diverse blend of genres.
