Lane 8 Releases Beautifully Nostalgic Single “Grapevine” With Elderbrook

Lane 8 is probably one of the most consistently solid producers in the electronic world. With a discography of five albums and a collection of singles and EPs, it’s safe to say that not one song in the bunch has let us down. Today, he releases his newest single, “Grapevine,” featuring the captivating Elderbrook on vocals.

“Grapevine” gives us all of the feel-good vibes from Lane 8 that we would expect, and more. Making its introduction with a warm synth pluck lead and beefy four-on-the-floor beat, the production immediately surrounds the listener like a big hug. A gentle piano melody fades in, making way for the smooth vocals of Elderbrook. His soft tone perfectly leans into the ambient track, with nostalgic lyrics to match. A progressive build until its conclusion, Lane 8 keeps the energy of “Grapevine” up with dynamic peaks and valleys throughout.

Lane 8 had this to say about the development of “Grapevine”:

Part of the drive to LA is the infamous grapevine, which is where the chorus and title of this song come from. Passing through the grapevine was a time to process the past, regrets and disappointments, but also a moment where excitement about the future would really start to kick in. It’s a bittersweet kind of feeling that I tried to channel into the production of this song as well.
