It’s been two years since the American electronic music scene tragically lost the beaming talent that was i_o, real name Garrett Lockhart. He was 30 years old when he unexpectedly died in 2020. With fans, friends, and family shocked by the news, it wasn’t until months later that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that he died from natural causes.
Yesterday, on the eve of the anniversary of his passing, Lockhart’s family announced the upcoming release of Warehouse Summer, a legacy album. “Thank you to the i_o management for bringing together all the teams necessary to release these last tracks of music,” they said in a statement. Today the album is released, featuring 14 new songs from i_o, all with vocals from frequent collaborator Lights.
