Earlier this week, we laid out a list of albums that we were looking forward to this month. Hagop Tchaparian made the list after surprising us with some beautiful, clean, worldly house and techno. He was first brought to our attention via the co-signing of one of our favorites and Text Records boss, Four Tet. Hagop, who prefers to go by his first name, was once the tour manager for Four Tet, and now he’s dropping his first-ever releases on Text Records.
In support of the Hagop’s debut album rollout, Bolts, Four Tet has contributed a remix of one of the singles, “Round,” originally released in August. This remix is a subtle flip, keeping the main resounding synth line while offering a different take on the groove. The alteration gives this one a little bit more upbeat dancefloor energy.
Hagop will have the first full-length project on Text Records in seven years, so it’s kind of a big deal. Until its release on October 21, you can listen to the new remix from Four Tet below. Enjoy!
