Logic Drops Surprise Acoustic Album ‘Supermarket’ Along With Debut Novel

Logic just dropped a book! Not only that, but he also surprised fans with a full album titled Supermarket to soundtrack his new novel of the same name. The book is “darkly funny psychological thriller” about Flynn, who is a guy who works at a supermarket. The 13-track album brings a much different sound than we’ve heard from Logic in the past.

Here Logic explores more singing / songwriting than we’ve heard from him in the past. He still raps on a couple songs, but he doesn’t rap on at all on most of them. The production is also very different. He utilizes guitar and piano instrumentation on many songs. He even recruited Mac Demarco on songs like “Probably Gonna Rock Your Wold” and “Vacation From Myself.”

It sounds like he’s been listening to a lot of late 90s and early 2000s rock while making this album. These songs are more rock or acoustic singer songwriter than rap and he even channels the Red Hot Chili Peppers on “Lemon Drop.” Check out the full album below, grab your copy of the book here and enjoy!
