Long Island Sound Flex Their Production Prowess on Sophomore LP ‘HYDRA’

|||

The moment we heard Long Island Sound‘s latest LP, we knew we had to share it with as many people as we could. Two years after their debut album, Lost Connection, Dublin-based duo, Rob Roche and Tim Nolan, deliver a truly special body of work with their sophomore album, HYDRA.

Lush pads and mystifying arpeggios build the foundation for what is an incredibly enamoring, artistically impressive album. A celebration of ten years creating music together, Long Island Sound reaches the pinnacle of their storytelling ability on HYDRA, imparting a wide range of emotions through the use of instruments alone. The duo’s uplifting production style leaves the listener with a sense of openness and optimism, guided by saturated synth sounds and driving, percussive beats.

Long Island Sound commented on the meaning behind HYDRA:

2024 marks 10 years of making music together. There’s a lot of emotion on this record, and it’s such a buzz expressing these feelings through the music we make. Thank you so much to everyone who has made HYDRA possible.
