Rising Florida rapper XXXTENTACION has teamed up with Diplo to release the new single "Looking for a Star," and the unexpected collaboration shows a completely new side of the 19 year-old MC.
XXXTENTACION rose to fame with his wild single "Look at Me," which has now racked up over 100 million views on streaming services. For his latest song, he taps Diplo to provide a minimal, tropical beat that brings the melodic vocals to the forefront and does away with XXX's signature distorted yelling. Instead of rapping, he opts for singing radio-friendly lyrics that could be mistaken for one of the collaborations on Jack U's album. If there was any question around Diplo being able to turn anyone into a star, this new track truly shows the talent he has in creating pop music.
This isn't the only unexpected collaboration we received this week from XXXTENTACION; he also worked with internet rappers Rich Chigga and Keith Ape to release the incredibly hype song "Gospel."
